Diccon Bewes grew up in Hampshire. After graduating from international relations studies, he travelled around the world for 18 months and began writing about his adventures. He then worked for Lonely Planet for ten years, and then came to Switzerland, where he worked as a bookseller for Stauffacher's English bookshop in Bern. He is now a full-time writer and a Switzerland expert.
