Diccon Bewes grew up in Hampshire. After graduating from international relations studies, he travelled around the world for 18 months and began writing about his adventures. He then worked for Lonely Planet for ten years, and then came to Switzerland, where he worked as a bookseller for Stauffacher's English bookshop in Bern. He is now a full-time writer and a Switzerland expert.

Dina Christ and Nicola Carpi met while studying visual communication at the Bern University of the Arts. More than ten years ago, they founded their graphic design studio CinCin Konzept und Gestaltung. They live in Berne and are parents of a little boy.
